Adia R. Louden considers herself a writer, researcher, storyteller, and soul-searcher committed to uncovering the narratives that shape Black life, Black womanhood, and Black adolescent and family wellbeing. Her work sits at the nexus of community health, structural violence, and Black lived experiences, blending rigorous, mixed-method research with the undeniable power of storywork. With over seven years of experience in public health, Adia is committed to co-creating an agenda that drives meaningful change-whether through research, narrative work, program development, or media/content creation. Her goal is to take critical steps toward implementing unique approaches to dismantling, repairing, and re-creating environments that are safe, inclusive, and engaging for diverse Black communities.
Adia is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Maternal and Child Health at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has worked with institutions, government agencies, non-profits, and individuals to provide both research and analysis support and compelling written narratives to drive impact. To center joy, wellness, and pleasure in her life, she enjoys slow mornings, silence, journaling, time with family and friends, and long walks outside.
